Treating patients with a Dual Diagnosis — an addictive disorder combined with a mental health condition— requires an exhaustive, integrated approach to therapy. At NOW, the stressors and distractions of daily life are removed, so you can dedicate all your time and attention to learning new coping skills and building a stronger sense of self-worth.
NOW Addiction Center is ideal for clients who need a long-term course of treatment to restore their emotional and psychological health.Identifying the need for treatment is the first step in getting the help you need to restore balance and health to your life. Dual diagnosis treatment is required when a person struggles with co-occurring disorders– alcohol or drug addiction and a simultaneously existing mental health disorder.Addicted individuals may also struggle with complications that include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or personality disorders. If left untreated over a period these conditions can intensify the other conditions affecting you or your loved one sobriety and health.
Mental health disorders have symptoms that are horrible, and addicts use drugs and alcohol to self-medicate. Drug and alcohol use only provide temporary relief from psychological problems. However, using drugs and or alcohol will make the issues worse. The lack of mood stability combined with substance abuse makes it almost impossible to gain control of his or her life.
NOW Addiction Center offers state-of-the-art detoxification facilities, and our Professional medical staff is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to make sure we monitor our clients physical and psychological well being. Our staff makes assessments daily, and each member of our multidisciplinary team participates in the treatment plan for the addict. Now Addiction Center’s medical professionals make every attempt to use medications for mental health symptoms that will not be addictive. When the dual diagnosis patient is correctly medicated for mental health symptoms, the risk of relapse decreases.
NOW ’s medical team works directly with the patient, from admission to release, we provide an aftercare plan which reduces the risk of relapse, and the development or worsening of serious illness. Dealing with addiction is always tricky, but those who struggle with more than one problem may find themselves in a complicated situation. Rehabilitation and recovery from two or more factors, whether that includes drugs, alcohol, prescription medications or mental illness, requires a custom program. A dual-diagnosis treatment program helps high-risk patients achieve sobriety and break free from their addictions. NOW Addiction center views recovery from all angles thoroughly and comprehensively. Full recovery means not just the cessation of drugs or alcohol for a specific period, but a lifestyle where drug use is not a temptation as a result of undiagnosed or misidentified mental illnesses.
LGBTQ @ NOW
Unfortunately, members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community struggle with drug and alcohol addiction at rates estimated to be double those of the general population. Fortunately, NOW is ready to help!
Members of the LBGTQ community have many obstacles to overcome, and some factors that contribute to this vulnerability to addiction include higher rates of depression, family rejection, discrimination, stigma, and an unhealthy craving to fit in with others who use alcohol or drugs.
Many LGBTQ community members have a hard time asking for help with drug or alcohol addiction. Most fear judgment or discrimination from individuals who are supposedly there to help.
Often, citizens who identify as LGBTQ have a fear of seeking help since many have had an off-putting experience when dealing with health care and other providers. NOW Addiction Center ends this fear; we are welcoming to all without judgment or discrimination.
Seeking help from NOW Addiction Center provides programs geared toward LGBTQ need making it easier for members of the LBGTQ community to get the support they need to overcome addiction. We offer all of these comfy, inclusive features in a luxury resort environment.
At NOW, we take client immersion to a whole new level. In fact, community plays such a significant role in NOW's programs that collaborative partner locations have been thoughtfully chosen and purposefully integrated into the NOW experience. This takes the form of local service work, philanthropic work, and just as importantly, civic service. We believe integrating social issues through community engagement plays an integral part in our client’s success as we work to improve the communities we live and work in.
