Our Treatment Philosophy
Our Program Philosophy
It is our sincere desire to motivate our clients to choose a healthier way of life and to help themselves to get the life they really want.
We take a Three steps approach to addiction treatment, BODY-MIND-SPIRIT.
This three-fold approach encompasses the clients' physiological, psycho emotional and spiritual needs.
We are a client-centered program based on respect and compassion.
Although addiction has common characteristics and behavior patterns associated with it, we treat each client as unique.
Each therapeutic issue is addressed individually. We utilize a wide range of therapeutic interventions in order to help each client achieve their specific goals.
In addition to traditional group and individual therapy, these interventions may include:
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (E.M.D.R ) for Post-Traumatic Stress and Compulsive Disorders.
- Neuro- Linguistic Programming (N.L.P.)
- Dialectic Behavior Therapy (D.B.T.)
- Motivational Interviewing
At Wisdom Treatment Center, we specialize in treating people who suffer from chronic relapse with drugs and alcohol and/or who are diagnosed.
By this we mean if you cannot stay clean & sober long enough to really get help.
These lost souls generally speaking have a co-existing psychiatric disorder such as Bi-Polar.
Anxiety or Panic Disorders, and Depression. Which if left untreated decrease your ability to cope with the realities of everyday life.
And it increases the likelihood that they will find comfort in the euphoric effects produced by drugs and alcohol. Our program focuses on long-term solutions.
Wisdom Treatment Center recognize the importance of treating the whole person and we do not believe in “institutionalizing” our clients.
You live in a supervised real world environment, and learn to cope with everyday realities, which we feel is a major contributing factor to your long-term success.
What Makes our Program Unique
The disease model of addiction implies that there is something wrong with a person that cannot be healed.
For example, research has shown that there are alcoholic biochemistries that make some people predisposed to addiction.
Rather than a “disease” we view addiction as a “disease”. Which causes an imbalance and disharmony in the life of a human being.
Furthermore, we believe that the symptoms are physical, psycho-emotional and spiritual conditions.
By this we know that it can be treated and/or managed, and your impact reduced.
While we acknowledge that there may be predispositions to addiction.
We focus more on identifying and treating the specific areas of dis-ease and work toward helping the client restore balance both inside and out.
We do this using the most progressive 21st century modalities available.
Also, our professional staff has the training and experience to profoundly address any emotional issues.
Childhood traumas and other significant personal and interpersonal problems.
Which may come up in the course of treatment and which have an impact on the person’s addictive behavior and quality of life.
Our goal is to help clients build self-esteem and self-confidence and to give them the tools to deal with life on life’s terms.
With a sense of empowerment and self-worth. Our clients’ are in a better frame of mind to say "no1” to unhealthy, addictive behaviors and to say “yes" to the healthy choices that make life worth living.
We have a continuum of care in a variety of housing units. Some units are designated for RES/PHP/IOP depending upon the level of care and supervision required.
